Rougher	Finisher	Intermediate

General purpose and most popularly used. With strong, ground cutting edges these taps cuts threads to the tolerances required. Are available in a set of 3 taps in Non Serial form and Serial form. These taps can also be manufactured in M35 & M42 Steels with various surface treatments.

In the Non Serial form the 3 taps are designated as Taper - 6.5 to 7 thread chamfer, Second - 4.5 to 5 threads chamfer and bottoming - 2 to 2.5 threads chamfer. All the taps have equal major and pitch diameter. Can be used in blind and through holes if there exists enough clearance.

In the Serial form the 3 taps are designated as Rougher, Intermediate and Finisher. The major and pitch diameter of the Rougher and the Intermediate taps are smaller in size than those of the Finisher. Recommended for hand tapping hard materials like stainless steel, ma raging steel etc.

Sprial Pointed For through hole tapping

These taps with a special geometry, are unique in their performance especially for high production runs and for through hole applications. A shorter thread length coupled with strong cutting edges and lower cutting torque enables the chips to be pushed forward and therefore better thread finish.

The taps can also be manufactured in M35 & M42 steels with various surface treatments like Blued, Nitrided, Titanium Nitride etc

Totem fluteless taps are designed for cold forming internal threads for ductile and non ferrous metals like Aluminum ( Moulded, Die casting, Drawn, Rolled ), Brass ( Drawn, Rolled ), Copper ( Molded, Rolled ) Zinc etc., These taps do not have cutting cutting edges or the conventional flutes thus giving the taps greater rigidity.

Fluteless taps do not produce chips and can be used for high speed tapping thereby maintaining a high precision uniformity and good surface finish of the tapped thread.

Spriex for blind hole tapping

Totem Spiral fluted taps are designed for blind hole tapping in a wide variety of materials, including Aluminum, Plastic and Cast Iron. Depending upon the application the Spiral flute angle is available in slow Spiral 15 degrees and fast spiral 35 degrees.

The strong cutting edges and short thread length enables reduce tapping torque resulting in higher performance. Spiral fluted taps can also supplied in M35 & M42 with various surface treatment like Steam tempered, Blued, Nitrided, Titanium Nitride etc.
